    Flying kites is a passion for me.  I enjoy giving public and private kite flying demonstrations at Children's Birthday Parties, Family Gatherings, Special Occasions, and School Functions.  If you are interested in learning how to fly a kite I also give kite flying instructions.  I am experienced in flying single (1) line kites, dual (2) line kites and quad (4) line kites.  The setting up of your kite and flight lines, becoming air-borne, simple turns, and the different means of landing your kite.
     
    I have been flying kites for approximately 25 years.  I am also a member of The American Kitefliers Association. I have been asked to entertain at different functions in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and of course, my resident state of Pennsylvania.  I have attended barbecues, church functions, children's birthday parties, little league baseball opening days, and school kite flying demonstrations.  On a breezy, sunny day I can be found almost anywhere in a field flying a kite.

    "The American Kitefliers Association is a nonprofit organization DEDICATED to educating the public in the art, history, technology, and practice of building and flying kites" Founded in 1964 by Robert M. Ingramham.
  • Kite Trade Association International
    To advance by any and all means the Kiting industry - manufacturing, distributing and retailing; to share useful information; to collect authentic data; to provide communication between members of the kite trade at all levels.
Publications:
  • Kiting
    Kiting is published quarterly by the American Kitefliers Association. It is distributed free to members. Submissions from members are welcome.
Clubs:
  • Eastern League Sport Kite Association - The Eastern League Sport Kite Association is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that promotes sport kite competition up and down the East Coast by offering a support system for competitors, providing consistent structure from event to event, and educating field staff. Although the League is independent from the American Kitefliers Association, all Eastern League events are AKA-sanctioned events, and the rules and competition year are the same as the AKA's. To be included in League standings and eligible for League honors, you must be a member of the Eastern League.
  • Lehigh Valley Kite Society - Since LVKS was formed in 1991, it has grown into one of the formidable kite club in the USA. They have set the nationwide standards in kids kite building, competition, innovative ground and aerial displays and camaraderie among kite fliers.

  • Red Baron Kite Team, Holland  - This kite team builds only single line kites, big and small.  They are best known for their "Red Baron Kite".  On their site you can find many festival reports, the "International Kitefliers Birthday Calendar" and the "International Kitefliers Portraits".

  • Wings Over Washington - WOW is based in Metropolitan Washington DC and is an affiliated club of the American Kitefliers Association. Over the years they have established themselves as one of the premier kite clubs on the east coast, if not in the country.
  • Maryland Kite Society - The Maryland Kite Society, (MKS) organized on January 25, 1969, stakes its claim as being the oldest kite club in the continental United States. While its membership hails mainly from the Mid-Atlantic States, MKS proudly boasts of members from across the nation and several foreign countries.

    • National Kite Month
      National Kite Month is an annual event that is held in April celebrating making and flying kites. It is a good time for teachers to talk about the history of kites and kiting and also to have "fun" in the classroom. This year it is a special occasion because of the fact that it is the anniversary of the Wright Brothers first powered flight of an aircraft in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
